Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gavin Phillip! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lloyd Thomas! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas walks into a jab.
It looks like Lloyd Thomas has been cut. Phillip slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Phillip fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thomas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Thomas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Phillip pushes Thomas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Thomas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Phillip bucks up and tries to throw Thomas off but instead Thomas has got his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thomas cracks Phillip with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Phillip from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Thomas has his opponent's back but Phillip is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Thomas. Phillip lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Phillip quickly recovers to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thomas lands a nice short elbow. Thomas is keen to just control but Phillip is a slippery customer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Well, if Thomas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Thomas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Thomas is nestled in close to Phillip, controlling him well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Oh Phillip is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Thomas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Phillip seems to have got his legs back now. Thomas stops Phillip from getting back to his feet.

Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Phillip. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Thomas!
