Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Sam Makatua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steel Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Penn looks for the body kick but Makatua saw that one coming.
Penn fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Sam Makatua has been cut.
A left and a right from Penn both land. Nice combination.
Makatua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Penn to score with a decent uppercut.
Makatua throws a lazy right hand but Penn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Makatua throws a jab but it's blocked by Penn.
Makatua throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Penn makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Makatua walks into a perfectly timed head kick by Penn and drops face first to the floor! Makatua's eyes are wide open but he's not all there - he's just flopping around the mat like a drunk on rollerskates! The referee doesn't even start the count - he's called an end to the fight, with Makatua in no position to continue!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Steel Penn!
After winning the bout, Steel Penn thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
