The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaylock lands a slapping body shot.
Vandalay takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Blaylock misses the shot to the body.
Dirk Blaylock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandalay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blaylock manages to avoid it.
Blaylock drops Vandalay with a right and a left! Blaylock comes rushing in but Vandalay regains his composure and manages to keep Blaylock in guard.
Vandalay is rocked!
It looks like Art Vandalay has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blaylock stands and throws Vandalay's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Vandalay is trying to get back to half guard.
Vandalay looks to move to half guard but instead Blaylock has passed into mount! Damn!
Vandalay controls the position.
Blaylock breaks from Vandalay's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vandalay takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Vandalay takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Blaylock's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Dirk Blaylock was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
