Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Cabrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Artur Ross!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws out a powerful jab.
Cabrillo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ross in his tracks.
Cabrillo throws a lazy uppercut
and Ross counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ross keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cabrillo.
Cabrillo throws a jab but it's blocked by Ross.
Cabrillo looks to land a right hand but Ross moved out of range.
Cabrillo looks to land a left hand but Ross moved out of range nicely.
Cabrillo loads up on a big right hand but Ross slips the punch.
Cabrillo throws a leg kick which misses Ross's front leg but catches the back leg as Ross tries to avoid it.
Ross misses with a kick to the body.
An inside leg kick from Ross misses.
Cabrillo checks a leg kick.
Cabrillo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ross in his tracks.
Cabrillo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ross.
Cabrillo tests Ross's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circling - Cabrillo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ross scores with a jab. Cabrillo acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Cabrillo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cabrillo lands an overhand right.
Cabrillo moves away from the strike by Ross.
We've been hearing reports that Cabrillo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Cabrillo throws a lazy right hand but Ross sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cabrillo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ross pushes Cabrillo up against the cage in a clinch.
Cabrillo tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Cabrillo misses with some punches.

Cabrillo breaks the clinch.
Cabrillo lands with a right hand.
Cabrillo misses with the combination.
Ross tries to land a body kick
and Ross takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Artur Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ross steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cabrillo.
Ross walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cabrillo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Ross lands with a hook. Cabrillo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ross avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Cabrillo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ross moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Artur Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Cabrillo misses with an uppercut.

Cabrillo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Ross's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cabrillo scores with a couple of short elbows.
Sloppy strikes there by Cabrillo.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cabrillo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cabrillo throws a strike aimed at the side of Ross's head but Ross avoids it well.
Ross takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Cabrillo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ross some visible discomfort.
Cabrillo lands a nice forearm strike.
Ross tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cabrillo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A big shot lands for Cabrillo! That's hurt Ross! Will he recover? Cabrillo fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Cabrillo!
