Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between kurt malotke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Sugidono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
malotke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
malotke is trying to keep Sugidono in close.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

malotke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sugidono paws at him with a jab and circles away.

malotke takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
malotke ducks right into an uppercut from Sugidono.
Sugidono gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sugidono is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sugidono uses his free foot to push down on malotke's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for malotke.

Sugidono swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and malotke is now in Sugidono's guard. A big mistake from Sugidono there, giving up the dominant position!

Sugidono lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for malotke!
malotke is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
malotke has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
kurt malotke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
malotke wants to control his opponent's hands but Sugidono gets his hands free.
malotke staying busy and making it hard for Sugidono to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sugidono has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, malotke has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
malotke tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Sugidono has hold of malotke's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and malotke manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
malotke is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sugidono seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but malotke is holding on tight.
malotke has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Sugidono's lack of action.

Eric Sugidono showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to kurt malotke.
