Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kain Velazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Velazquez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Since the Flood- . Staal has chosen 2Pac - Ghetto Star (feat. Bad Azz) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staal misses with a low kick as Velazquez jumps back.
Velazquez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Staal momentarily.
Staal throws out a loose jab but Velazquez uses good head movement to avoid it.

Velazquez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Staal's coach down at GreatWall MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Staal's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Velazquez looks to land a right hand but Staal moved out of range.
Kain Velazquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velazquez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Staal.

Velazquez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Staal checks the leg kick.
Staal connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Velazquez drops his hands momentarily and Staal takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A swing and a miss from Velazquez.
Velazquez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Staal connects with a jab.
Staal throws a leg kick which misses Velazquez's front leg but catches the back leg as Velazquez tries to avoid it.
Staal drops Velazquez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Velazquez looks back up at him and smiles so Staal waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Velazquez is rocked!
Velazquez is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Staal scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Oh Velazquez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Staal fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Velazquez square on the jaw! Damn, Velazquez is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Staal!
During a confident post fight interview, John Staal thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
