Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Meguru Takayanagi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Mclovin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Takayanagi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Takayanagi throws a front kick that sends Mclovin stumbling back into the cage. Takayanagi misses with a body kick. Takayanagi walks into a left hand. Takayanagi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takayanagi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Meguru Takayanagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takayanagi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takayanagi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Takayanagi throws a push kick but Mclovin slaps the foot to one side. Mclovin with a hook. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Takayanagi. Takayanagi tries a head kick but it misses.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mclovin misses with a low kick. Takayanagi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Takayanagi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mclovin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action! Takayanagi throws a push kick but Mclovin slaps the foot to one side. A shot to the liver by Takayanagi. Beautiful body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takayanagi misses with a kick to the body.
Mclovin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mclovin engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Takayanagi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mclovin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Takayanagi. Mclovin lands an elbow. Takayanagi trying to control but Mclovin flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Mclovin has managed to slip his arm under Takayanagi's chin. This could be all over... yep, Takayanagi is tapping out! Submission win for Mclovin.
