Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Myles O Donnell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Frazier! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Donnell keeps the fight on the outside. Frazier has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as O Donnell is landing a low percentage of strikes. O Donnell connects with a leg kick. Frazier looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Frazier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Donnell's waist but O Donnell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frazier off to one side. The fighters circling - Frazier throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Frazier scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Frazier's corner calls for a 1-2. Frazier obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Frazier closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Still in half guard, Frazier seems content to control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Frazier decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Frazier misses with an uppercut. Joe Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Donnell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Frazier pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Frazier is trying hard to land a takedown here. O Donnell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. O Donnell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. O Donnell tries a body shot but Frazier blocks it.
Frazier throws a head punch that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frazier is trying to break free. Frazier is looking to break free of the clinch but O Donnell has double underhooks. Frazier blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Frazier blocks a body shot from O Donnell. Frazier is trying to break the clinch but O Donnell is controlling him. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. O Donnell works on Frazier's body with a couple of short punches. O Donnell misses with a punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for O Donnell. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Frazier wants to break the clinch but can't.
O Donnell has Frazier pressed against the cage, preventing Frazier from circling away and getting back to striking at range. O Donnell lands with a left to the head. Frazier connects with a knee to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from O Donnell. A head punch on the inside from O Donnell fails to land. O Donnell lands with a right to the head. Frazier wants to get back to striking at distance but O Donnell won't allow it.
Frazier pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Donnell pushes Frazier back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Frazier wants to get back to striking at distance but O Donnell won't allow it.
Frazier is trying to push O Donnell away but O Donnell has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. O Donnell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Frazier's elbow. O Donnell goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Frazier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. O Donnell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Joe Frazier has been cut. Frazier takes one on the button. O Donnell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Frazier. O Donnell looks to score with a jab to the body but Frazier is just out of range. O Donnell misses with a looping right. Frazier looks for a takedown but O Donnell sprawls well. Myles O Donnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Frazier. O Donnell ducks under a wild hook from Frazier. O Donnell lands a jab to Frazier's midsection. Frazier lands with a right hand. Frazier on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. O Donnell dodges the punch combination from Frazier.
Frazier tries to clinch there but O Donnell circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Donnell lands with a shot to the body. O Donnell getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Frazier is rocked! Myles O Donnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Are you kidding me?! O Donnell ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Frazier clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
