The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mancine throws a lazy uppercut
and Riley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Riley misses with an attempted mid kick.
The crowd cheers as Mancine lands an impressive looking overhand right. Riley doesn't seem phased though.
Mancine takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mancine looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Riley!
Mancine throws an elbow but Riley slips to the side and avoids it well.
Riley is trying to improve his position.
Mancine controls the position.
Mancine postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Riley tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley prevents Mancine from improving position.
Riley tries to buck Mancine off but Mancine is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riley is being controlled here.
Mancine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riley keeps working.
Mancine working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Riley is looking for a sweep.
Riley parries the strikes from Mancine easily there. Mancine is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Riley to escape.
Riley is not content to let Mancine control the position.
