Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Philippe Njewel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pietrzak dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pietrzak has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Njewel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pietrzak. Njewel looks to score with a jab to the body but Pietrzak is just out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Njewel. Pietrzak thumps Njewel with a low kick. Njewel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Njewel misses with a wild combination.
Pietrzak looks for a takedown but Njewel sprawls well. Njewel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pietrzak sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pietrzak throws a body shot but no joy. Njewel tries to score with a low kick but Pietrzak moves his leg out of the way. Njewel lands with a thumping leg kick.
Njewel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Pietrzak fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Njewel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Njewel avoids the head kick by Pietrzak.

That's one minute gone in the round. Njewel misses with an attempted mid kick.
Njewel with a hook. Pietrzak feints and as Njewel raises his hands in defense, Pietrzak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Pietrzak trying to control the position from guard on top but Njewel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pietrzak tries to free his leg and advance position but Njewel is retaining full guard. Njewel is pulling down on Pietrzak's head to control his posture. Njewel keeping moving, preventing Pietrzak from controlling successfully. Njewel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Njewel working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Njewel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pietrzak keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A solid leg kick lands there for Pietrzak.
Njewel scores with a decent looking hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pietrzak throws a shot from downtown. Njewel moves away and avoids it. Pietrzak misses with a series of wild punches.
Martin Philippe Njewel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pietrzak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pietrzak slips a straight right by Njewel. Njewel throws a leg kick and Pietrzak counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Njewel is controlling Pietrzak's trapped leg to prevent Pietrzak from advancing to side control. Pietrzak is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Njewel!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak working the ground and pound effectively.

Pietrzak raining down hammerfists from mount. Pietrzak scoring with strikes but Njewel is staying in there.
Njewel is rocked! Pietrzak lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Oh Njewel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pietrzak looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Njewel covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
