PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Dumic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Tom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dario Dumic!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tom feints and as Dumic raises his hands in defense, Tom changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tom might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Tom scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dumic will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Tom is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Dumic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dumic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tom is aware though and is defending well.

Tom avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dumic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dumic is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dumic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tom defends well.

Dumic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dumic has momentary wrist control but Tom slips an elbow through the middle.
Tom postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Tom is working for a kimura but Dumic is defending it quite comfortably.

Dumic has hold of Tom's hands but Tom slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Tom is nestled in close to Dumic, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Tom is trying to control. Dumic wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
