Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mel Massey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mel Massey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Jim! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jim throws a left and a right that both miss
and Massey counters with a nice leg kick. Massey throws a sloppy head kick and Jim moves out of range easily. Massey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jim has managed to clinch.
Jim has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Massey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Massey throws a sloppy head kick and Jim moves out of range easily. Jim misses with a takedown and Massey counters with a head kick. Jim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jim throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Massey really is a fat lump. Jim looking to score a takedown here. Massey is defending well but Jim drives through and ends up in Massey's guard. Massey looking for a guillotine here but Jim defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Massey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jim is one step ahead there. Jim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Massey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jim is fighting to break Massey's control of his arms but Massey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Massey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jim manages to get himself to full guard.
Massey lands a couple of decent looking shots. Massey is stalling in the full guard. Massey postures up and lands a big shot to Jim's brow. Jim is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jim being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mel Massey just wasn't active enough. Jim lands a glancing blow to the side of Massey's head. Massey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jim.
Massey dives in and grabs Jim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jim pushes down on Massey's head and hops out. Jim rushes Massey and presses him up against the cage. Jim lands with a short shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Massey jumps into guard, dragging Jim to the mat.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Massey cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Massey controlling his opponent. Jim is trying to stand. Massey content just to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jim wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Jim wants to hold on but Massey pushes him away. The referee warns Jim that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You get the feeling that Jim really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Jim looks winded! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Massey controlling the position easily from mount. Massey lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Nice sprawl there from Jim as Massey shoots in. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A head kick misses from Massey. Massey dives in and scores a takedown into Jim's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mel Massey dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Massey enables Jim to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Massey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Massey looking for a sweep. Not yet Massey, not yet. Massey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jim's guard. Massey stays in close to Jim's body and controls the position. Jim looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Mel Massey wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Jim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Massey moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jim has a takedown stuffed. Jim misses with a two punch combination.

Jim is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters circling - Jim throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jim fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Massey, pushing him back against the cage. Massey ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Massey no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Massey is on top in guard.
Massey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Massey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mel Massey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jim is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jim is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mel Massey. Jim swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Massey avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Sloppy strikes from Jim. Those never looked like landing. Massey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Massey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Massey fails with the takedown and Jim counters with a left and a right that stings Massey. Jim throws a series of punches but Massey moves out of range. Jim lands a glancing blow to the side of Massey's head. Jim defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Massey. Mel Massey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A head kick misses from Jim. Massey lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jim will feel that in the morning. Jim closes the distance and clinches. Massey blocks a body shot from Jim. Jim tries to break the clinch but Massey is controlling the position. Jim tries to pull guard but Massey holds him up against the cage and eventually Jim drops back down to his feet.
Massey manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Massey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jim defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jim content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Massey trying to control the position.
Jim throws a big right hand that misses. Jim preventing the sweep. Massey is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jim has his hands clasped together but Massey extends and breaks Jim's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Massey.
