Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Kwaak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin James Gatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Kwaak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin James Gatti! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatti fails with the takedown and Kwaak makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gatti really felt that one! Kwaak rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gatti counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kwaak throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gatti wants to clinch up but Kwaak keeps it at a distance. Kwaak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gatti. Kwaak connects with an inside leg kick. Kwaak loads up on a big right hand but Gatti slips the punch. Gatti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kwaak is fending him off so far but Gatti persists. Nope, Kwaak circles away and we're back to standing. Gatti blocks a jab. Gatti tries to clinch but Kwaak is having none of it. Kwaak stuffs the takedown. Sam Kwaak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin James Gatti. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gatti slips under a jab. Gatti moves away from the strike by Kwaak. Gatti lands with an uppercut that bounces Kwaak off the cage and back into range. Kwaak lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kwaak stuns Gatti with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kwaak lands with a right hand. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gatti. Kwaak looks to score with a jab to the body but Gatti is just out of range. Good work by Gatti as he checks the leg kick. Gatti fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kwaak looks to land a combination but Gatti avoids it well. Gatti shoots and misses and Kwaak makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Gatti misses with a takedown attempt and Kwaak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Gatti looks winded! Kwaak turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kwaak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gatti moves away. A combination from Gatti does no damage. Kwaak lands a jab to the head.
Kwaak bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gatti's head. Kwaak is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Gatti takes one to the chin there. Gatti shoots in looking for a takedown but Kwaak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gatti's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gatti misses with a takedown and Kwaak counters with a body kick that stops Gatti in his tracks momentarily. Gatti misses with a takedown attempt - Kwaak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kwaak cracks Gatti with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Gatti falls to his knees and Kwaak doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Kwaak! A less than humble Sam Kwaak misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
