Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Romo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dongdong Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Romo Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dongdong Wong!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong misses with a head kick.
Diaz moves out of range as Wong strikes.
Diaz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wong.
Wong swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wong looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Diaz shoots in but Wong avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Wong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Wong lands a head kick. Diaz smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Diaz cracks Wong with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diaz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.

Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Diaz shoots for a double leg takedown but Wong sprawls well. He's pushed Diaz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Diaz here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
