Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lance Marcy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcy comes to the cage accompanied by Archer's Cherlene - Danger Zone - Duet With Kenny Loggins. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lance Marcy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micky OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcy pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces OBrien back to the cage. Marcy follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Marcy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
OBrien throws a jab when Marcy was well out of range.
Micky OBrien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

OBrien clinches with his opponent.
OBrien is looking to take this one to the mat.

Marcy wants the takedown. OBrien is fighting it off but Marcy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in OBrien's guard against the cage.
Marcy wants to control from the top but OBrien keeps moving.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marcy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Marcy stays in close to OBrien's body and controls the position.
Marcy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lance Marcy just wasn't active enough.
Marcy blocks a low kick nicely.
Marcy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

OBrien takes the fight into the clinch.

Marcy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. OBrien can't fight it off and eventually Marcy manages to take the fight to the floor. OBrien looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marcy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Marcy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OBrien is staying active underneath Marcy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
OBrien is trying to escape back to his feet but Marcy uses the scramble to pass into side control.

OBrien is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marcy asserts his dominance and retains side control.
OBrien takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marcy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by OBrien.
OBrien swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marcy lands a nice leg kick that just misses OBrien's sensitive parts.

OBrien looks to land a combination but Marcy avoids it well.

letting Marcy counter with a right hand.
Marcy cracks OBrien with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Marcy is looking to take a break and control but OBrien is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

OBrien is trying to stand back up but Marcy is controlling him

OBrien is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Still in half guard, Marcy seems content to control.
Marcy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed OBrien's head.
Marcy wants to control but OBrien is keeping him busy.
Marcy working over OBrien with some ground and pound. OBrien looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Marcy is keen to just control but OBrien is a slippery customer.
OBrien really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marcy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lance Marcy just wasn't active enough.

Marcy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marcy is pressing down on OBrien's thigh, looking to free his foot. OBrien is holding on for now.
Marcy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

OBrien tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Marcy manages to move to mount!

OBrien is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Marcy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, OBrien has managed to escape the submission attempt.

OBrien avoids a series of strikes thrown by Marcy.
OBrien holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Marcy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

OBrien lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marcy at a distance.
OBrien looks to land a left hand but Marcy moved out of range nicely.
Marcy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that OBrien can do to turn this around?

Marcy creates some space and throws a big elbow, but OBrien sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
OBrien tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Marcy keeps control of the position easily here as OBrien tries to buck him off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marcy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
