Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cyprus Hill - Hits From the Bong. Wexler has chosen Go To Sleep - Eminem as his entrance music. Jay Hunter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Wexler! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter throws out a powerful jab. Wexler misses with a double jab.
Hunter misses with a head kick.
Hunter throws an overhand right that lands on Wexler's shoulder, as Wexler tries to avoid the shot. Hunter stuffs the takedown. Hunter connects with a leg kick. Wexler looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Wexler tries for a takedown but Hunter circles away easily and Hunter counters with a leg kick. Hunter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Midnight MMA in the buildup to the fight. Hunter fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wexler is out of range. Wexler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jay Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Wexler. Hunter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wexler's sensitive parts. Wexler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hunter as he avoids it easily. Wexler misses with a left hand and Hunter counters with a good low kick that Wexler was not able to check. Hunter tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wexler is able to avoid easily. Wexler misses with a left hand and Hunter counters with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wexler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hunter thumps Wexler with a low kick. Wexler scores with a jab to the head.
Hunter looks to score with a jab to the body but Wexler is just out of range. Wexler throws a looping overhand right but Hunter ducks down to avoid it. Hunter moves out of range of the strikes. Hunter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wexler.
Wexler checks a low kick from Hunter. Wexler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hunter.
Wexler throws a body shot but no joy. Hunter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wexler's hands. Hunter throws a quick inside leg kick. Hunter drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter stopping the sweep attempt from Wexler. Wexler is trying to control the position but Hunter postures up. Hunter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hunter trying to control but Wexler is working from the bottom. Wexler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hunter is one step ahead there. Hunter chips away with some ground and pound. Hunter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wexler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wexler keeping moving, preventing Hunter from controlling successfully. Hunter won't allow Wexler to sweep him here. Hunter gets to his feet. Wexler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wexler throws a half hearted mid kick. No joy there for Wexler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wexler has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hunter. Hunter fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. The crowd cheers as Hunter lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wexler doesn't seem phased though. Wexler lands a nice shot to the body.
Wexler misses with a hook. Hunter ducked under it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wexler checks the leg kick. Wexler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hunter was covering up waiting for the punch and Wexler finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hunter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wexler trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wexler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wexler has gone for a leg lock! Hunter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wexler's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hunter lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Hunter dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Sloppy strikes from Wexler. Those never looked like landing. Wexler needs to keep his hands up - Hunter had a free shot at his head there. Hunter throws a nice inside leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Hunter. Wexler does a little dance to reset his feet. Wexler gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hunter tries a low kick but Wexler avoids it. Wexler throws a body punch but Hunter moves out of range. Wexler misses with a wild body shot. Jay Hunter is winning the standup battle so far. Hunter misses with an uppercut. Wexler moves away from the strike by Hunter. Hunter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wexler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hunter.
Hunter connects with the punch. Wexler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wexler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wexler wants to control for a moment but Hunter uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wexler is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hunter reverses the position - he's now on top in Wexler's guard. Hunter wanted to stand there but Wexler had control of the position. Wexler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hunter is working Wexler over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hunter stopping the sweep attempt from Wexler. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hunter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hunter has hold of Wexler's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Wexler seems comfortable defending it but Hunter has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Wexler is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Wexler is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hunter couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jay Hunter! A relieved looking Jay Hunter thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
