Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andy Berdich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio Perrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Berdich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helio Perrera! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by Perrera. Perrera throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Perrera. Berdich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Perrera moves into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Berdich's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Berdich with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perrera trying to strike off his back.

Berdich postures up in Perrera's guard and throws a big left but Perrera blocks it. We've been hearing that Berdich has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Berdich's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perrera is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Perrera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Berdich chips away with some ground and pound. Perrera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Perrera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Berdich is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berdich got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perrera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Berdich has managed to get both his arms back between Perrera's legs - danger averted. Perrera controls Berdich momentarily but Berdich frees himself. Berdich throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perrera works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Berdich throws a big right hand that misses. Berdich with a flurry of punches that miss. Perrera wants to sweep here but Berdich controlling him for the moment. Berdich is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Berdich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perrera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Perrera has his foot on Berdich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berdich works his way back into a safe position though. Perrera looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Berdich is in close to Perrera's body, working some short punches and elbows. Perrera wants to sweep but no luck. Berdich is pushing down on Perrera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Perrera is fighting to maintain full guard but Berdich has managed to sneak the leg through. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perrera is looking to control Berdich's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Perrera avoid being mounted? Berdich throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perrera trying to control here.
Berdich drops an elbow to the side of Perrera's head. Berdich winds up and cracks Perrera with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Perrera tries to roll over but Berdich keeps him under control. Berdich scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Berdich looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Perrera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Berdich working Perrera over with strikes. Berdich thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perrera's head. Berdich seems to be looking for submissions.
Perrera wants to get back to full guard. Perrera looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Berdich seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Berdich landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Perrera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berdich is pressing down on Perrera's thigh, looking to free his foot. Perrera is holding on for now. Perrera gets back to full guard.
Berdich postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Perrera throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Berdich has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Perrera has his foot on Berdich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berdich works his way back into a safe position though. Berdich is looking to work some ground and pound but Perrera has wrist control. Berdich postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Berdich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Perrera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Berdich defends it easily. Berdich postures up in Perrera's guard and throws a big left but Perrera blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Berdich postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Berdich chips away with some ground and pound. Berdich throws an elbow that misses. Perrera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Berdich's guard. Nice move by Perrera! Berdich preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Perrera won't allow Berdich to sweep him here. Berdich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Berdich is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Berdich looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Perrera puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Perrera working the head and body with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy Berdich dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Berdich misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Berdich fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Perrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Berdich. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Berdich. That's going to take a lot out of him. Perrera slaps away a takedown attempt from Berdich, before circling back to the center of the mat. Perrera gets caught napping as Berdich dives in and scores a takedown. Perrera manages to retain guard. Berdich cracks Perrera with a solid left hand. Perrera manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Berdich is rocked! Perrera looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Berdich covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
