Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Netanyahu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaji Maruo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maruo has chosen Avril Lavigne - Hello Kitty as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benjamin Netanyahu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kaji Maruo! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Netanyahu fails to land the takedown. Maruo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Netanyahu is trying to defend but Maruo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Netanyahu trying to control here.
Netanyahu keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Netanyahu moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Maruo stopping the sweep attempt from Netanyahu. Maruo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Netanyahu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maruo is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maruo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Netanyahu's head. Netanyahu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Maruo wants to control from the top but Netanyahu keeps moving. Maruo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Netanyahu keeping moving, preventing Maruo from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Netanyahu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maruo. Maruo fails with a takedown attempt. Maruo stuffs the takedown. Netanyahu has his takedown stuffed and Maruo counters with a nice double leg into guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benjamin Netanyahu. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Netanyahu looking for a sweep. Not yet Netanyahu, not yet. Maruo trying to control the position from guard on top but Netanyahu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maruo stands and throws Netanyahu's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Netanyahu tries to buck Maruo off but Maruo is having none of it. Maruo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Netanyahu keeps working. Netanyahu is trying to get back to half guard. Netanyahu is working hard here to advance position. Maruo cracks Netanyahu with a big elbow. Maruo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. It looks like Maruo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Maruo is looking to take a break and control but Netanyahu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Maruo controls the position. Netanyahu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Netanyahu tries to get out of the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Kaji Maruo was stalling too much, according to the referee. Netanyahu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Maruo as Netanyahu shoots in. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Netanyahu shoots in looking for a takedown. Maruo tries to sprawl out of it but Netanyahu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maruo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Maruo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Netanyahu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maruo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Netanyahu is in Maruo's guard. Netanyahu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Netanyahu throws a strike but Maruo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Netanyahu can't keep his opponent in guard - Maruo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Maruo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Netanyahu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Maruo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Maruo wants to take a breather but Netanyahu is having none of it. Netanyahu is looking to improve his position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kaji Maruo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Netanyahu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Maruo moves into range and clinches up with Netanyahu. Maruo gets a trip takedown into half guard. Netanyahu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Maruo moves nicely into side control. Netanyahu tries to buck Maruo off but Maruo is having none of it. Netanyahu is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Maruo slaps away a takedown attempt from Netanyahu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maruo tries to clinch but Netanyahu moves out of range. Maruo throws a nice looking combination but Netanyahu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Maruo fails with a takedown attempt. Maruo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Netanyahu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Maruo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Netanyahu. Maruo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Netanyahu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maruo circles away. Maruo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Netanyahu to score an easy takedown into full guard. Maruo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maruo looking to sit in guard and control but Netanyahu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Netanyahu works over Maruo with some ground and pound from guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kaji Maruo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Netanyahu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Netanyahu. Maruo closes the distance and clinches up with Netanyahu, looking for a takedown. Maruo pushes Netanyahu against the cage but Netanyahu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Maruo has managed to clinch.
Netanyahu jumps guard but Maruo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Maruo lands a left hand.
Netanyahu is looking to break free of the clinch but Maruo has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Netanyahu's face as he tries to break the clinch. Maruo has clasped his hands together around Netanyahu's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Maruo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Netanyahu is avoiding damage well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Maruo in side control, throwing shots but Netanyahu defends. Netanyahu is not content to let Maruo control the position. Maruo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maruo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Maruo is looking to take a break and control but Netanyahu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kaji Maruo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Maruo stands and throws Netanyahu's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Netanyahu is not content to let Maruo control the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maruo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Netanyahu, who protects the arm well.
And that's the end of the fight! Kaji Maruo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maruo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
