The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendricks fails with the takedown
and Sanderson counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Johny Hendricks has been cut.
Sanderson delivers a nice body kick.
Sanderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hendricks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hendricks is striking but Sanderson is not phased and passes to half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hendricks can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hendricks felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Sanderson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Sanderson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Hendricks in real trouble here! The ref calls for Hendricks to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
