Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keijiro Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hossein Vaziri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keijiro Maeda has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keijiro Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hossein Vaziri!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaziri with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Vaziri has eaten all the pies!
Maeda showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vaziri.
Vaziri misses with a kick to the body
and Maeda counters with a big head kick but Vaziri shrugs it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maeda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vaziri pinned against the cage. Vaziri gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Maeda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vaziri's waist but Vaziri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maeda off to one side.
Vaziri throws a quick inside leg kick.
Maeda keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vaziri.
Vaziri connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Maeda closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vaziri counters with a right hand to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Maeda.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keijiro Maeda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maeda slips a jab and a cross from Vaziri.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maeda has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vaziri.
Vaziri throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vaziri looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Maeda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaziri as he avoids it easily.
Maeda on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Maeda wants to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Maeda is breathing heavily.
Vaziri throws a big shot that misses.
Vaziri scores with a head kick. Maeda tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Keijiro Maeda has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vaziri fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maeda, pushing him back against the cage.
Maeda blocks an uppercut.
Maeda tries to pull guard but Vaziri forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Maeda manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vaziri stays in close to Maeda's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hossein Vaziri has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Maeda blocks a head kick by Vaziri.
Hossein Vaziri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maeda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vaziri is fending him off so far but Maeda persists. Nope, Vaziri circles away and we're back to standing.

Vaziri fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maeda, pushing him back against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Vaziri.
Maeda wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vaziri has him pressed against the cage.
Vaziri crunches a lovely knee into Maeda's ribcage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vaziri has Maeda pressed against the cage, preventing Maeda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Maeda is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vaziri gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Vaziri is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Maeda is defending well for now.
Vaziri wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Maeda has him pressed against the cage.
Maeda changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vaziri fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Maeda fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Vaziri throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Maeda is looking to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maeda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Maeda tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Maeda fails with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maeda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vaziri's waist but Vaziri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maeda off to one side.
Vaziri throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Maeda.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maeda tries to clinch up.
A jab lands there for Vaziri.
Vaziri stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vaziri wants it to stay on the feet.
Maeda shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vaziri sprawls well. Vaziri wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maeda gets slowly back to his feet.
Maeda avoids the head kick by Vaziri.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vaziri rushes Maeda with punches - Maeda moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Maeda goes down! Vaziri follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hossein Vaziri!
