Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Remy Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artem Alekseev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Remy Shark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Artem Alekseev! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shark tries to clinch up. Shark keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Alekseev circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shark clinches. With the fighters up against the cage, Shark throws an elbow but misses. Alekseev drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shark pulls his leg out and moves away.
Shark wants to clinch up but Alekseev keeps it at a distance. Shark tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alekseev tries to keep at a distance but Shark has taken the fight into the clinch. Shark jumps guard and drags Alekseev to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Alekseev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Alekseev passes easily into side control. Nice work. Shark is looking for a sweep. Shark wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alekseev tries for a kimura but Shark is defending well. Shark tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Alekseev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shark is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Shark wants to control but Alekseev postures up. Shark wants to get back to his feet. Alekseev tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alekseev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shark, who protects the arm well. Alekseev looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Alekseev looks gassed! Alekseev tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Who's going to make the next move? Shark tries to bench press Alekseev off him but Alekseev keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shark sneaks back into half guard. Shark wants to get back to his feet. Alekseev wants to pass the guard but Shark is defending well. Shark works his way to full guard. Good work. Alekseev preventing the sweep. Alekseev wants to pass the guard but Shark is keeping the position. Shark throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shark managing to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alekseev trying to control the position from guard on top but Shark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shark looking for a sweep. Not yet Shark, not yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Alekseev swats away the attempt to clinch by Shark. Shark throws a sloppy head kick and Alekseev moves out of range easily. Shark tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alekseev swats him away and circles back towards the center. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Remy Shark will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Alekseev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shark's waist but Shark gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alekseev off to one side. Alekseev is breathing heavily. Shark moves in looking to clinch but Alekseev pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alekseev fails with the takedown. Alekseev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shark pinned against the cage. Shark gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Remy Shark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artem Alekseev. Shark tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Shark throws a sloppy head kick and Alekseev moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from Shark. Alekseev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shark circles away. Shark throws a sloppy head kick and Alekseev moves out of range easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Shark looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shark tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Shark is looking to clinch. Horrible takedown by Alekseev or perhaps it was just good defense by Shark which made him look bad. Shark fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shark pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shark tries to close the distance and clinch but Alekseev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shark forces Alekseev back against the cage and clinches. Shark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Shark tries to clinch up but Alekseev circles away and keeps his distance. Shark lands a head kick!
Shark throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Artem Alekseev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck for Alekseev with that takedown attempt. Shark is looking to clinch but Alekseev is avoiding it.

Alekseev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Alekseev.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alekseev trying to control the position but Shark is working away. Alekseev works to advance to full mount. Shark defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Alekseev has control of Shark's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shark regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Alekseev wants to take Shark's back but he can't do it this time. Alekseev avoids the attempt from Shark to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alekseev jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Shark is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Shark and Alekseev has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Alekseev tries to move to mount but Shark blocks the move with his legs. Shark keeping his opponent close. Alekseev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shark is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Remy Shark dominated that second round. That's time! Shark's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Shark closes the distance and clinches. Shark gets control of Alekseev's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shark will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Shark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alekseev on the ground. Alekseev tries to free his leg and advance position but Shark is retaining full guard. Shark seems keen to control Alekseev's posture. Shark keeping moving, preventing Alekseev from controlling successfully. Alekseev pushing down on Shark's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Alekseev is working for an americana but Shark has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Alekseev was thinking about the submission. Shark wants to stand but Alekseev is controlling the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alekseev looking to pass the guard. Alekseev stops Shark from standing up. Shark is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alekseev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shark tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alekseev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shark controls the position for a moment. Shark is looking to reverse the position. Alekseev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alekseev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shark is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shark sneaks back into half guard. Shark keeping hold of Alekseev's head, controlling as best he can. Alekseev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shark defends it well. Shark is trying is best to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Alekseev is working for a kimura but Shark is defending it quite comfortably.
Alekseev is working for a submission of some sort.
Shark is holding on to half guard well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Remy Shark. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shark, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
