PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dack Fayden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rami Sebei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sebei's choice of entrance music: The Bouncing Souls - Ole. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dack Fayden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rami Sebei!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sebei throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rami Sebei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sebei cracks Fayden with a good jab.

Fayden rushes Sebei and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fayden tries to pull guard but Sebei holds him up against the cage and eventually Fayden drops back down to his feet.

Sebei gets control of Fayden's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sebei will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Fayden avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fayden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sebei swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sebei is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sebei has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fayden can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sebei looking for subs off his back but Fayden has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fayden is nestled in close to Sebei, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We've been hearing good reports from Fayden's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Dack Fayden will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Sebei tries to keep at a distance but Fayden has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sebei throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Faydens head.

Sebei swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sebei tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fayden smiles and moves away.

Fayden catches Sebei with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A looping hook to the body misses from Fayden. Sebei does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sebei uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fayden.

Fayden tried to score with a low kick but Sebei checks it.
Fayden lands a lovely overhand right.
Fayden lands with an overhand left.
Sebei takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fayden closes the distance and clinches up with Sebei, looking for a takedown. Fayden pushes Sebei against the cage but Sebei circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sebei slips under a jab.
Fayden throws a right and a left that Sebei avoids nicely.
Sebei throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Sebei dives in and scores a takedown into Fayden's guard.

Fayden has a closed guard, preventing Sebei from standing up.

Sebei is pushing down on Fayden's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fayden is fighting to maintain full guard but Sebei has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fayden wants to control but Sebei is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sebei is looking for a kimura but Fayden is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sebei to get the leverage.

Sebei is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fayden has his hands clasped together around Sebei's back. He's all about the action.
Fayden is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sebei's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sebei's back!

Fayden looking to break Sebei's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sebei remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Fayden will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

A relieved looking Dack Fayden thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
