The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rivera thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malone Jr's head.
Malone Jr felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
