Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between German Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shephard comes to the cage accompanied by K9 Justice. Diaz has chosen Fort Minor-Remember The Name as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shephard in his tracks.

Shephard wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Shephard throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shephard pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Diaz back to the cage. Shephard follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Diaz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shephard enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shephard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shephard lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Diaz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Diaz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Shephard throws a big uppercut that drops Diaz! More strikes from Shephard and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Diaz lies dazed against the cage as Shephard celebrates with his cornermen!

After winning the bout, German Shephard thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
