Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ned Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mega's choice of entrance music: Black and Yellow. Max Mega has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ned Alonso's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Alonso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Mega! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alonso throws a combination that misses and Mega counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Alonso falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mega counters with a nice double leg into guard. Alonso tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alonso keeping moving, preventing Mega from controlling successfully. Mega is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Mega pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alonso is keeping the position for now. Alonso looking for a sweep. Not yet Alonso, not yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Mega. Alonso throws a big shot that misses. Mega shoots in looking for a takedown. Alonso tries to sprawl out of it but Mega keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alonso manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Alonso throws the left hand but Mega avoids the punch easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mega moves away from the strike by Alonso. Alonso throws a right and a left that both miss. Alonso throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mega decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alonso's guard. Mega stays in close to Alonso's body and controls the position. Mega trying to control the position from guard on top but Alonso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alonso keeping full guard, as Mega tries to pass. Mega passes into half guard. Alonso works his way to full guard. Good work. Alonso is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This has been an exciting period of action! Alonso seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Alonso working over Mega with some ground and pound. Mega looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Alonso lands a nice short elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alonso thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mega's head. Alonso is trying to control. Mega wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Alonso throwing shots but Mega is blocking nicely. Alonso seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mega does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mega is trying to get back to full guard. Mega is trying to stand up here but Alonso is controlling him well. Alonso looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mega with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mega tries to kick Alonso off but Alonso keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alonso lands with a punch from half guard. Alonso stops Mega from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ground and pound from Alonso. Alonso prevents Mega from standing back up.
Mega slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mega wants to get back to his feet but Alonso is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Alonso is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mega is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Alonso seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Mega working for submissions but it's allowed Alonso to get to half guard.

Let's see if Mega can do anything to dispel that myth. Alonso is trying to control. Mega wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mega keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Alonso looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No joy there for Alonso, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Alonso throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A right-left combo lands from Alonso. Alonso swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alonso throws a jab when Mega was well out of range. Ned Alonso is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alonso throws out a powerful jab. Alonso throws a nice looking combination but Mega bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mega ducks under a wild hook from Alonso. Mega darts in looking for a takedown but Alonso gets double underhooks and turns Mega into the cage. Alonso wants to break free but Mega has control.

Ned Alonso dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Mega counters with a two punch combo. Alonso scores with a one two! Mega had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Mega shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mega showed some decent athleticism there. Mega throwing shots but Alonso is blocking nicely. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Alonso makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alonso. Max Mega has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alonso swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alonso trying to control the position.
Alonso wants to sweep here but Mega controlling him for the moment. Alonso lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Alonso throwing strikes but missing. Mega working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alonso. Alonso sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mega's guard. Alonso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mega keeps working. Alonso working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Alonso keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Alonso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mega fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alonso sprawls well initially but Mega persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mega stands up and beckons Alonso to join him on the feet. Alonso throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mega counters with a left and a right that stings Alonso. Alonso misses the shot to the body. Mega slips a jab and a cross from Alonso.

A looping hook to the body misses from Alonso. Mega does a little dance to reset his feet. Alonso lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mega circles away quickly and effectively. Alonso digs a good body shot into Mega's ribs. Ned Alonso is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Alonso shoots in for a takedown but Mega shows good takedown defense. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alonso misses with a shot to the body and Mega counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mega working Alonso over with strikes. Mega works his way into side control. Alonso is trying to control Mega's posture but Mega avoids it. Mega works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Mega tries to move into full mount but can't pass Alonso's legs. Max Mega has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alonso can't do much from the bottom here. Alonso parries the strikes from Mega easily there. Mega is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Alonso to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mega lands some shots froms side control. You can see the frustration on Alonso's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mega tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Max Mega. I think Alonso has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
