Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Fondels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio D Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergio D Cruz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andy Fondels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergio D Cruz! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Fondels. Fondels lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fondels with a nice cross. D Cruz avoids a kick to the body.
D Cruz moves out of range of the leg kick from Fondels. An inside leg kick from Fondels misses. Fondels lands a leg kick that knocks D Cruz off balance momentarily. This has been an exciting period of action! Fondels keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fondels missing with a left hand there. D Cruz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. D Cruz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fondels. We've been told by Fondels's head coaches at Ironfist Athletics that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. D Cruz blocks a leg kick. D Cruz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fondels defends it nicely. A telegraphed right hand from Fondels misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. D Cruz dives in for a single leg takedown but Fondels sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Andy Fondels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio D Cruz. Fondels pushes D Cruz back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Fondels throws a blind hook that connects with the side of D Cruzs head. Fondels with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Fondels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fondels misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from D Cruz.
D Cruz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. D Cruz moves forwards but Fondels connects with a nice, crisp jab. A solid leg kick lands there for Fondels.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. D Cruz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Fondels comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. D Cruz looks winded! Fondels connects with a leg kick. D Cruz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Fondels cracks D Cruz with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Fondels has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning D Cruz to stand back up!
D Cruz is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fondels scores with a shot to the body.
Andy Fondels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fondels throws a monster overhand right that drops D Cruz! Fondels follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
