Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Santichava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nicolas Cannon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nicolas Cannon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Cannon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cannon wants it to stay on the feet. Cannon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice takedown defense from Santichava. No joy for Cannon on that attempt. Santichava tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cannon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santichava somewhat. Cannon avoids a punch combination nicely.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cannon is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Santichava rolls with it to try and escape but Cannon cranks on the arm and Santichava is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nicolas Cannon!
