Hardy comes to the cage accompanied by Run this town. Scott has chosen Scotty Doesn't Know as his entrance music. Esteban Scott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Esteban Scott!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott gets the takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Scott is looking to take a break and control but Hardy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scott takes a little break here. Hardy wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Scott goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hardy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Scott but great work by Hardy.
Scott is looking for a sweep.
Hardy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hardy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Scott throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Hardy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott wants to control but Hardy postures up.
Hardy landing strikes.
Hardy scoring with punches and elbows.
Scott is looking for a sweep.
Hardy trying to control the action but Scott is working from the bottom.
Hardy tries to score with some ground and pound. Scott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hardy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hardy lands a decent elbow from side control.
Hardy looks up at the clock and then as Scott takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hardy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Scott is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Scott is trying to control Hardy's posture but Hardy avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott sneaks back into half guard.
Hardy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott tries to roll over but Hardy keeps him under control.
Scott trying to hold on to Hardy's head to control him but Hardy postures up.
Scott has hold of Hardy's hands but Hardy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hardy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hardy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Scott is pressing down on Hardy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hardy trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hardy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hardy postures up and lands a big shot to Scott's brow.
Hardy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Scott is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hardy rolls with it to try and escape but Scott cranks on the arm and Hardy is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Esteban Scott!
After winning the bout, Esteban Scott thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Chad Hardy stepped up to the mic, saying 'As always I can do everything through Christ my lord and savior who strengthens me. Without him I wouldn't be here tonight. Don't worry I'll be back.'.
