The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Metelkin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Talipov moves into the clinch. Talipov jumps guard.
Metelkin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Metelkin wants to pass the guard but Talipov is keeping the position. Talipov rushes Metelkin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Metelkin tries to pull guard but Talipov forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Metelkin shoots in looking for a takedown. Talipov tries to sprawl out of it but Metelkin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Talipov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Talipov closes the distance and clinches. Talipov breaks the clinch.

Talipov rushes Metelkin and presses him up against the cage. Talipov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Talipov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Metelkin tries to bum rush Talipov with a series of wild strikes but Talipov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Metelkin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Metelkin is looking to clinch. Metelkin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Metelkin trying to control the action but Talipov is working from the bottom.

We've been hearing good reports from Talipov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Metelkin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Talipov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Metelkin has managed to get both his arms back between Talipov's legs - danger averted. Metelkin postures up.
Metelkin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Metelkin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Talipov has escaped the position, nice work there. Metelkin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Talipov sneaks out the side door and pushes Metelkin away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Talipov works Metelkin's body with a nice hook. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Metelkin lands a lovely overhand right. Metelkin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Metelkin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Talipov's head. Metelkin lands a left and a right that send Talipov crashing to the mat, dazed. Metelkin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sasha Metelkin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Metelkin wants to work for an arm triangle but Talipov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Talipov is refusing to be controlled, as Metelkin sits in half guard. Talipov is in trouble now - Metelkin has advanced to mount! Metelkin is landing with some decent strikes but Talipov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Talipov throwing hammer fists to the chest of Metelkin. What's that going to do exactly? Metelkin looking to control but Talipov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Talipov tries to hold on but Metelkin pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Talipov is bucking up trying to escape but Metelkin cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Metelkin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Talipov hang on? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Metelkin wants to control the pace but Talipov is squirming around nicely. Metelkin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Metelkin controlling from mount.

Metelkin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Talipov looks a forlorn figure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Talipov tries to hold on but Metelkin pushes him away.
