These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shintaro Nomo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Silvean Maxiq!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxiq misses with a straight right.
Maxiq throws an off balance right hand
and Nomo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Maxiq misses with a right hand
and Nomo counters with a left to the body.
Maxiq connects with a body shot.
Maxiq throws out a loose jab but Nomo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Maxiq throws the left hand but Nomo avoids the punch easily.
Nomo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Victory Gym and Spa in the buildup to the fight.
Maxiq throws an off balance right hand

and Nomo counters with a single leg into guard. Maxiq didn't expect that.
Maxiq wants to stand but Nomo is controlling the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nomo passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Nomo has hold of Maxiq's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Maxiq seems comfortable defending it but Nomo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Maxiq is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Maxiq is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Nomo couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shintaro Nomo!
Shintaro Nomo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
