Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wilbert Vinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Ramos! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vinson lands a head kick. Ramos smiles back at him and beckons him forward. A jab from Ramos finds it's way through Vinson's defenses.
It looks like Wilbert Vinson has been cut. Ramos scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ramos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vinson pinned against the cage. Vinson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ramos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ramos throws a series of punches but Vinson avoids them all with ease. Ramos throws a body punch but Vinson moves out of range. Ramos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ramos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ramos is looking to stand up but Vinson won't let him. Ramos won't allow Vinson to get back to his feet. Vinson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ramos is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos throws an elbow that misses. Vinson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ramos's guard. Nice move by Vinson! Vinson throwing strikes but missing. Vinson is looking to work some ground and pound but Ramos has wrist control. Ramos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vinson controls the pace. Vinson won't allow Ramos to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Ramos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wilbert Vinson. Ramos falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vinson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ramos! Ramos looks winded! The referee asks Vinson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vinson prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sloppy strikes there by Vinson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramos is not content to let Vinson control the position. Ramos avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Vinson. Ramos trying to remain calm as Vinson controls from the top position. Vinson prevents Ramos from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vinson working the ground and pound from side control. Vinson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ramos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Vinson controlling the position. Ramos wants to get back to his feet but Vinson drags him back down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramos wants to clinch and Vinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vinson. Vinson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vinson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vinson trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom. Ramos is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vinson wants to control from the top but Ramos keeps moving.

Ramos tries to bum rush Vinson with a series of wild strikes but Vinson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ramos instigates a clinch. Ramos manages to pull guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ramos keeping moving, preventing Vinson from controlling successfully. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Vinson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sergio Ramos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ramos tests Vinson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ramos darts in trying to clinch and Vinson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Vinson trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom. Vinson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vinson throwing strikes from guard but Ramos blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vinson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vinson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ramos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vinson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Vinson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Ramos misses the target. Vinson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ramos takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ramos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vinson misses with the combination.
Vinson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ramos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ramos fails in his attempt to clinch. Ramos closes the distance but Vinson moves to the side and Vinson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ramos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vinson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Wilbert Vinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio Ramos. Vinson taking a breather. Vinson jumps guard but Ramos stands there with Vinson around his waist. Vinson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ramos lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vinson backwards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramos has hold of one of Vinson's legs. Vinson is fighting the takedown attempt but Ramos gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Wilbert Vinson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramos postures up.
Ramos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ramos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vinson pulls Ramos in to control the position. Ramos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vinson is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Wilbert Vinson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ramos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vinson circles away quickly and effectively. Vinson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ramos dives in and scores a takedown into Vinson's guard. Vinson trying to keep a closed guard but Ramos is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vinson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ramos is aware though and is defending well. Ramos wanted to stand there but Vinson had control of the position. Ramos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vinson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ramos throws an elbow that misses. Vinson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ramos's guard. Nice move by Vinson! Vinson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

and Vinson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Vinson feints a jab promting Ramos to slip. Vinson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ramos slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Ramos avoids the head kick by Vinson.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vinson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vinson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ramos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sergio Ramos. I think Vinson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
