Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lennart Karlberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglass Devine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lennart Karlberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglass Devine! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlberg tries a head kick but it misses.
Karlberg throws a right and a left that both miss. Karlberg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Karlberg fails with the takedown. Karlberg throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. No luck for Devine with that takedown attempt. Karlberg throws a head kick but Devine moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Devine scores a takedown into full mount! Devine with good strikes from the mount here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Devine prevents Karlberg from getting the reversal. Devine jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Karlberg is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Karlberg and Devine has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Karlberg is trying to control Devine's posture but Devine avoids it. Karlberg is trying to get back to half guard. Karlberg is working hard here to advance position. Devine stands up and beckons Karlberg to his feet. Devine shoots in for a double leg but Karlberg sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karlberg with a poor takedown and Devine counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Karlberg! Devine with the ground and pound from mount. Devine tries to control but Karlberg wriggling away. Devine goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Karlberg is on top in guard.
Karlberg is breathing heavily. Devine looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Karlberg passes into half guard.
Karlberg stands up from half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Karlberg misses with a takedown and Devine counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Karlberg! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lennart Karlberg. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karlberg tries to reverse the position but Devine maintains control. Devine trying to control but Karlberg is having none of it. Karlberg tries to get back to half guard but can't. Devine goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Karlberg is on top in guard.

Devine looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Karlberg puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Karlberg trying to control from half guard but Devine is working away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Devine tries to get to full guard but Karlberg has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Devine is trying to stand up here but Karlberg is controlling him well. Devine gets back to full guard.
Karlberg wants to control from the top but Devine keeps moving. Devine looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Douglass Devine dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Karlberg gets a clinch. Devine gets control of Karlberg's arms and successfully pulls guard. Devine will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Karlberg wants to pass the guard but Devine is keeping the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Devine can do anything to dispel that myth. Karlberg wanted to stand there but Devine had control of the position. Devine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karlberg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karlberg working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karlberg gets to his feet - Devine follows without any prompting. A head kick by Karlberg misses and Devine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Karlberg's guard now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Karlberg is keeping the position for now. Devine is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Devine sitting in guard, not really doing much. Devine makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Devine wants to pass the guard but Karlberg is keeping the position. Karlberg is looking to stand up but Devine isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karlberg gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Devine holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Devine manages to break the clinch.
Karlberg clinches up with Devine and pushes him back against the cage. Devine misses with a knee strike.
Karlberg looking to slow down the pace here. Devine wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Karlberg drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Karlberg lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Devine.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Devine is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. The is referee keeping an eye on Karlberg - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Lennart Karlberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglass Devine. Devine has picked Karlberg up - he's going for a ride! Devine dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Devine is nestled in close to Karlberg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Karlberg tries to roll over but Devine keeps him under control. Devine is pressing down on Karlberg's thigh, looking to free his foot. Karlberg is holding on for now. Karlberg wants to control but Devine is keeping busy and won't allow it. Devine is looking for a kimura here.
Devine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karlberg keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Devine stalling away here and it's allowed Karlberg to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Devine throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karlberg works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Karlberg misses with a double jab
and Devine holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Karlberg pulls guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wait, no, Karlberg rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Devine's guard! Nice work there by Karlberg! Karlberg works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Devine wants to improve his position but Karlberg is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlberg is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Karlberg has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Devine slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Devine is looking to stand back up but Karlberg counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Devine. Karlberg thows a huge punch but Devine dodges it nicely.

Karlberg looks to clinch and Devine counters with a big head kick but Karlberg shrugs it off. Karlberg closes the distance looking to clinch and Devine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Karlberg's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karlberg throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Karlberg wants to sweep here but Devine controlling him for the moment. Devine postures up.
Karlberg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Devine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karlberg swivels though and keeps the full guard. Karlberg looking for a sweep. Not yet Karlberg, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Douglass Devine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Devine winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
