Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ice Cube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cube comes to the cage accompanied by Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It. Ice Cube had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ice Cube! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Doe! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Doe. Cube rushes Doe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Doe misses with some punches.

Cube will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Doe up against the cage. Doe lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Cube or not. Cube lands with a short shot to the head. Doe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cube blocks an uppercut.
Doe tries to throw a body punch but Cube avoids it by throwing Doe back against the cage. Doe swings wildly with an uppercut but Cube uses good head movement to avoid it. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Stalling in the clinch from Cube.
Doe tries to work over Cube's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. I was talking to Cube's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cube takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Doe wants to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left hand lands to the body for Cube.
Doe throws a head punch that misses. Cube lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Cube blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Doe is looking to take this one to the mat. Doe tries to work over Cube's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Doe wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cube stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Doe can't find room to land a body shot as Cube controls the action.

Cube presses Doe against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Doe scores with an uppercut up the middle. A head punch on the inside from Doe fails to land. Doe throws a punch but it's blocked by Cube. A left hand lands to the body for Cube.

Doe tries for a takedown but Cube manages to get underhooks.

Doe's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Doe fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe tries to break the clinch but Cube is controlling the position. A battle for position here, against the cage. Doe takes a shot to the head. Doe can't break the clinch.
Doe's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Cube has Doe pressed against the cage.
Doe is trying to break the clinch but Cube is controlling him. Doe can't find room to land a body shot as Cube controls the action.
Doe has a couple of punches blocked by Cube.
Cube scores with a shoulder strike. Doe letting Cube take a breather here. Cube blocks a body shot from Doe. Doe is trying to drag Cube to the mat but Cube just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cube makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Cube scores with an uppercut up the middle. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Doe tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Doe stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Doe wants to break the clinch but can't.
Doe has had enough of the clinch but Cube keeps him there for the moment. Cube lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Doe backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ice Cube will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Doe misses with a hook. Doe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cube circles away. Doe on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cube. Doe does a little dance to reset his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Some bone on bone action there as Cube checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A swing and a miss from Doe. Doe takes a swing at Cube's ribcage but misses. Doe will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cube is looking to clinch but Doe is avoiding it.
Cube gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Cube ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Doe misses with a low kick.

and Doe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Doe advances to half guard. Cube on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cube tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doe is controlling the pace.
Doe tries to pass to full mount but Cube defends it. Doe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Doe trying to advance position but Cube counters by regaining guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cube has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Cube keeping moving, preventing Doe from controlling successfully. Doe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe advances position into side control! Cube might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Doe has an Americana. Cube didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Doe is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Doe hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). John Doe! Our winner, John Doe, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
