16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jesus Gaarlandt! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaarlandt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gaarlandt wants to free his trapped foot but Berdich is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gaarlandt is looking for a kimura here.
Berdich tries to roll over but Gaarlandt keeps him under control. Gaarlandt is working for a kimura but Berdich is defending it quite comfortably.

Berdich is nestled in close to Gaarlandt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Berdich lands a nice short elbow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Berdich is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Berdich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Berdich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gaarlandt is breathing heavily. Gaarlandt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Berdich can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gaarlandt has momentary wrist control but Berdich slips an elbow through the middle. We've been hearing that Berdich has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Berdich working some strikes from top position. Berdich makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Gaarlandt is still in real trouble! Can Berdich finish him? Andy Berdich overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Berdich keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gaarlandt's head. Berdich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Berdich arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Gaarlandt's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
