Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Pigeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Ferreira Da Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pigeon comes to the cage accompanied by Hank Williams Jr. - Country Boy Can Survive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Pigeon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexandre Ferreira Da Serra!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Serra misses with a takedown
and Pigeon counters with a nice leg kick.
Da Serra shoots and misses
letting Pigeon counter with a right hand.

Da Serra shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pigeon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Pigeon keeps Da Serra under control for a moment.

Da Serra is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pigeon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pigeon tries to bench press Da Serra off him but Da Serra keeps the position.

Pigeon is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Nights Watch MMA Academy, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Da Serra's coach down at HARRY'S was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Da Serra's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Pigeon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Da Serra to the mat! Da Serra manages to get full guard.
Pigeon throws a strike but Da Serra rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Da Serra is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pigeon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Da Serra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pigeon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Da Serra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pigeon has managed to get both his arms back between Da Serra's legs - danger averted.
