Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eduardo Moon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinny Kato! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kato stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kato wants it to stay on the feet. Eduardo Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Moon tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kato makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Moon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kato pinned against the cage. Kato gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Moon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kato keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moon doesn't manage to clinch there - Kato circles away.
Kato defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Moon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eduardo Moon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Moon tries to clinch up but Kato circles away and keeps his distance. Moon throws a push kick but Kato slaps the foot to one side. Moon closes the distance and clinches. A frustrated look appears on Moon's face as he tries to break the clinch. Moon is working for takedown but Kato is calmly controlling the position for now. Kato escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Moon fails with a takedown attempt. Kato circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kato wants to get back to his feet but Moon drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moon working the strikes but Kato uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kato looks like he's trying to stand up.
Moon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kato blocking the ground and pound attempt from Moon. Kato pushes Moon off looking to stand but Moon dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Vinny Kato has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kato showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Moon.
Moon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kato leaves Moon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Moon misses with a hook to the body
and Kato counters with a body kick that stops Moon in his tracks momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eduardo Moon dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Kato counters with a leg kick. Moon feints and as Kato raises his hands in defense, Moon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kato has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Moon has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Moon gets control of Kato's arms and successfully pulls guard. Moon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kato stands up from guard. Let's bang! Moon throws a half hearted mid kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moon tries to clinch but Kato is having none of it. Moon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Moon shoots in looking for a takedown but Kato manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Moon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Moon fails with a takedown attempt. Moon shoots for a double leg takedown but Kato sprawls well. He's pushed Moon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eduardo Moon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kato leaves Moon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kato swats away the attempt to clinch by Moon. Moon looks for a takedown but Kato sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kato manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Moon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kato as he avoids it easily. Moon rushes Kato and presses him up against the cage. Moon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kato gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Moon with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kato breaks from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Moon fails with a takedown attempt. Moon tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kato counters with a nice body kick.
Moon tries to clinch but Kato moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Eduardo Moon will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Moon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kato avoids it really well and circles away. Moon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kato napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kato pushes Moon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Moon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Kato is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Moon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Moon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kato pushes Moon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Moon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Moon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kato is avoiding damage well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Moon lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. An elbow from Moon crashes against the mat.
Moon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kato avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Moon. The strikes coming from Moon are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Kato is pushing Moon's head away, looking to escape. Moon manages to hold on to the position though. Kato takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Kato throws Moon to one side and escapes!
And that's the end of the fight! Eduardo Moon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Moon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
