Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between DJ Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Ruffneck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, DJ Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Ruffneck! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruffneck throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range. Ruffneck throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steel avoids a punch combination nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Steel. Ruffneck waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Steel. Ruffneck lands a glancing blow to the side of Steel's head. Steel is looking to clinch. Ruffneck circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Ruffneck to counter with a crisp jab. Steel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ruffneck.
Steel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ruffneck defends it nicely. Jab, jab by Ruffneck - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ruffneck counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ruffneck scores with a hook to the body. Steel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Steel shoots for a double leg takedown but Ruffneck sprawls well. He's pushed Steel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruffneck wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Steel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ruffneck counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Steel thinking. Steel is breathing heavily. Steel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ruffneck connects with a looping right hand.
The Ruffneck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ruffneck lands a nice shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruffneck scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Steel doesn't seem bothered though. Steel gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ruffneck gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Ruffneck! The Ruffneck decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
