Kawajiri has chosen Water Pow as his entrance music. Tatsuya Kawajiri has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Moneybags's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Moneybags!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tatsuya Kawajiri!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Moneybags as Kawajiri shoots in.
Moneybags lands a jab to Kawajiri's midsection.

and Kawajiri takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kawajiri shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kawajiri was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kawajiri wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moneybags keeps working.
Moneybags might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kawajiri working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Let's hope that Kawajiri has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tatsuya Kawajiri hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kawajiri changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moneybags looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kawajiri creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Moneybags sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kawajiri goes for a double leg but Moneybags avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Moneybags continues to drive forward.

The crowd cheers as Moneybags lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kawajiri doesn't seem phased though.

Kawajiri is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tatsuya Kawajiri.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kawajiri is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

I think Kawajiri has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
