Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angelo Costa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iheb Iii! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa fails to land with a series of punches.
Horrible takedown attempt by Iii or perhaps it was just good defense by Costa, which made it look bad. Iii fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Costa just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circling - Costa throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Iii fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Angelo Costa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iheb Iii. Some wild striking there from Costa.
Costa's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Costa duly obliges. Iii closes this distance looking for a takedown but Costa circles away. Costa lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Costa misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Iii tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Costa throws the left hand but Iii avoids the punch easily. Iii fails in his attempt to clinch. Costa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Costa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Iii circles away quickly and effectively. A looping hook to the body misses from Iii. Costa does a little dance to reset his feet. Costa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Iii slips a jab from Costa. Iii is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Costa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Iii circles away quickly and effectively. Costa lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Costa.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Iii shoots in but Costa avoids the takedown attempt easily. Costa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Iii looks winded! Costa misses with a straight left. Nice defenses there by Iii. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Iii. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Iii slips a jab from Costa. A slow jab from Costa misses its intended target. Costa scores with a jab to the body. Iii takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Costa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Costa wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa lands with a nice body punch. Iii is trying desperately to land a takedown but Costa is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Iii. Costa misses with a two punch combination.
Costa drops Iii with a right and a left! Costa comes rushing in but Iii regains his composure and manages to keep Costa in guard.
It looks like Iheb Iii has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Costa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Costa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Costa has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Iii showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Costa.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Iii takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Costa takes a swing at Iii's ribcage but misses. Costa stalks Iii and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Iii's face. Iii staggers backwards, shaken. Donk. Costa catches Iii right on the button with a cross.
Iii is rocked! Costa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Iii is still on wobbly legs! Can Costa finish him? Costa connects with a stiff jab that staggers Iii - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Angelo Costa! A less than humble Angelo Costa misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
