Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brett Snow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimbo Pins! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pins forces Snow back against the cage and clinches. Stalling in the clinch from Pins.
Pins tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Pins is adopting a defensive guard. Pins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Snow manages to get himself to full guard.
Snow is wriggling around but Pins manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Snow works his way to full guard. Good work. Snow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Snow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snow is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pins is trying to maintain the position but Snow is very close to passing his half guard. Pins regains full guard. Nicely done. Snow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pins is pulling down on Snow's head. It's preventing any offense from Snow, at least for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snow stopping the sweep attempt from Pins. Pins pulls Snow in close to prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jimbo Pins was stalling too much, according to the referee. Snow tries to clinch but fails miserably and Pins counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Still in half guard, Pins seems content to control. Pins wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snow has a hand on Pins's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pins takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Pins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Snow is looking to escape. Snow defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pins. Snow tries to hold on but Pins pushes him away. Pins lands with some strikes. Snow tries to lock up and control but Pins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Snow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A frustrated look appears on Snow's face as he tries to break the clinch. Pins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Snow uses from the top position. Snow stops Pins from standing up. Pins seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Snow loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pins striking off his back but it's not causing Snow any problems. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pins can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jimbo Pins has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Pins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Snow was covering up waiting for the punch and Pins finishes the takedown easily into guard. Snow keeping full guard, as Pins tries to pass. Pins keeps trying to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Snow enables Pins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Snow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Pins content to stall in guard here. Snow trying to control the position.

Pins taking a breather here. Pins wants to stand but Snow is controlling his arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimbo Pins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Pins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Snow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pins moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Snow is looking to reverse the position. Pins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Snow, who protects the arm well. Snow tries to get back to half guard but can't. A lull in the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snow can't do much from the bottom here. Pins staying calm. Pins looks up at the clock and then as Snow takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pins smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Pins cracks Snow with a big right hand but Snow just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pins is looking to take a break and control but Snow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snow can't do much from the bottom here.

Pins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pins lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Snow down.
Pins lands an elbow. Pins working the body and head with strikes. Pins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pins controls the position. Pins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Snow is looking to reverse the position. Pins is staying tight to Snow's torso, preventing him from escaping. You can see the frustration on Snow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pins closes the distance and pushes Snow back into the cage. Pins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A bit of stalling here from Pins.
Pins is defending well against a takedown attempt. Pins lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Snow can't find room to land a body shot as Pins controls the action.
Pins ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pins no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Pins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pins has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimbo Pins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
