Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ichabod Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mingo Deems (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crane comes to the cage accompanied by Way of The Ninja. The key to victory for Ichabod Crane has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ichabod Crane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mingo Deems! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deems on the wrong end of a nice jab. Crane scores with a hook.
It looks like Mingo Deems has been cut. Crane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Deems shoots in for a takedown but Crane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Deems on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Crane scores with a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crane misses with a jab, cross combination.
Deems blocks a jab. Deems gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Crane. Deems shoots in for a takedown but Crane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Crane pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Crane throws a predictable looking body shot
and Crane takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Crane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Deems shoots for a double leg takedown but Crane sprawls well. He's pushed Deems's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ichabod Crane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mingo Deems. Crane swings away with a leg kick that misses. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Crane, right into the meat.
Crane fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Deems looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Deems slips a jab and a cross from Crane.
Crane throws an overhand right that lands on Deems's shoulder, as Deems tries to avoid the shot. Crane just misses with a punch to the body.
Crane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Crane wants it to stay on the feet. A head kick misses from Crane. Crane looks to throw the jab but Deems is out of range. Deems looks for a takedown but Crane sprawls well. Deems is trying desperately to land a takedown but Crane is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Deems. Deems shoots in but Crane avoids the takedown attempt easily. Crane slips under a jab from Deems.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crane misses with a right hand and Deems counters with a stiff right hand. Crane wants to slow Deems down by chopping away at his legs. Deems fails with a takedown attempt. Deems shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crane sprawls well. Crane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Deems gets slowly back to his feet. Crane listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Crane misses the shot to the body. Deems blocks the body kick.
Deems with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Crane to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crane lands with a right hand.
Deems is rocked! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Deems.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deems is trying hard to land a takedown here. Crane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Crane closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Deems! Crane dives in looking to finish! Deems is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ichabod Crane! After winning the bout, Ichabod Crane thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
