PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Micheal White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manx Scrader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Micheal White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Manx Scrader!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scrader.
Scrader just misses with a punch to the body.
Scrader swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and White counters with a nice leg kick.
Scrader fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Micheal White has been cut.
Scrader throws a left and a right that both miss

and White decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scrader's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Scrader wants to get back to his feet but White is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Scrader wants to get back to his feet but White passes into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scrader is trying to maintain the position but White is very close to passing his half guard.
Scrader is trying to control but White passes into side control!
Scrader is looking for a sweep.

Scrader can't do much from the bottom here.
White landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
You can see the frustration on Scrader's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Scrader is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but White is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Scrader wants to hold on but White pushes him away.
Scrader is desperately trying to improve his position but White has a good base and remains in mount.
Scrader tries to hold on but White postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scrader regains half guard.
Scrader wants to control but White is keeping busy.
Scrader tries to roll over but White keeps him under control.

White is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scrader makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scrader.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Scrader throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! White escapes and throws Scrader's legs to the side, diving into side control!
White wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scrader keeps working.
Scrader is trying to control White's posture but White avoids it.
Scrader is looking to regain half guard here but White keeps moving and retains side control.
White postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scrader is looking for a sweep.
White could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Scrader looks to move to half guard but instead White has passed into mount! Damn!
Scrader is wriggling around trying to escape.

White goes for an armbar but Scrader turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Scrader.
White avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scrader is looking to work some ground and pound but White has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manx Scrader dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Micheal White's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


White ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
White on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Micheal White is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scrader throws an uppercut from half a mile away. White sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scrader swings for the body but White moves out of range.
Scrader looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Scrader misses with a right hand

and White counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Scrader is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Scrader uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scrader lands a really nice looking cross but White seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scrader loads up on a big right hand but White slips the punch.
White looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Scrader misses with a hook

and White counters by clinching up.
White tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
White wants a takedown.
Scrader wants to get back to striking at distance but White won't allow it.
Scrader avoiding damage.
White fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micheal White. That's going to take a lot out of him.
White is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Scrader to keep the fight standing.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Scrader creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

White manages to break the clinch.
Scrader misses with an uppercut

and White counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scrader working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. White manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

White stands up and waves to Scrader to follow him.
Manx Scrader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
White tries to move into range but Scrader moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


White is rocked!
Scrader throws a jab when White was well out of range.
Scrader misses with a few strikes there.
Scrader misses with a wild combination.
Scrader missing with a left hand there. White was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Scrader throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Scrader does no damage.
Scrader throws a body shot but no joy.
Scrader misses with a right hand
and White counters with a low kick, right behind Scrader 's knee.
Manx Scrader seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Scrader dips to his left and cracks White with an uppercut!
Oh White is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sloppy strikes from Scrader. Those never looked like landing.
White seems to have got his legs back now.
Scrader misses with a body shot.
Scrader lands a head shot.
Scrader just misses with a punch to the body.
Scrader misses with a right hand

and White decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scrader's guard.
Scrader controlling White's posture.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Scrader not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

White decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Scrader, up you get!
White tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Scrader manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Scrader misses with a left hand

and White counters by clinching up.
Scrader manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
White jumps guard but Scrader stands there with White around his waist. White gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Scrader pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Scrader. Those never looked like landing.
Scrader throws a low kick, looking for White's leg but White calmly moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manx Scrader showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Scrader paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Scrader misses with a lunging right hand
and White counters with a three punch combo that has Scrader backing up. Scrader nods at White to acknowledge the strikes.
White uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Scrader.
Scrader fakes high and swings low for a body shot but White manages to avoid it.
White moves out of range of the strikes.
White bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
White keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
White moves out of range of the strikes.
Scrader throws a poor cross that misses

and White moves into the clinch.
Scrader gets through White's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
White tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Scrader smiles and moves away.
White closes the distance and clinches up with Scrader, looking for a takedown. White pushes Scrader against the cage but Scrader circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scrader swings and misses with a hook to the body.
White walks straight into a right hand from Scrader - that's dropped him! Scrader jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save White from any more punishment! White complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Manx Scrader!
After the fight, Manx Scrader was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
