PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Carreon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takada Kumushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carreon comes into the arena with bitiw by spongecola blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Francisco Carreon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takada Kumushi!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carreon gets a double leg takedown into Kumushi's guard.
Carreon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kumushi has momentary wrist control but Carreon slips an elbow through the middle.

Kumushi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carreon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carreon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kumushi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carreon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kumushi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carreon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kumushi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carreon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kumushi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carreon defends well.

Carreon is looking to escape.
Kumushi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Carreon is not content to let Kumushi control the position.
Kumushi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Carreon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carreon is refusing to be controlled, as Kumushi sits in half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kumushi is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Carreon is looking to improve his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kumushi lands a nice short elbow.

Nice strikes from Kumushi there.
Kumushi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Carreon strikes from the bottom but Kumushi uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Carreon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carreon tries to get out of the position.

Kumushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carreon keeps working.

Carreon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kumushi on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kumushi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kumushi looks up at the clock and then as Carreon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kumushi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kumushi lands a decent elbow from side control.
Carreon throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Kumushi is putting a hurting on Carreon here, landing some big shots from side control.
Kumushi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kumushi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Carreon to see if he's OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takada Kumushi dominated that round.
That's time! Carreon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kumushi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carreon is working away from the top position though.
Kumushi wants to improve his position but Carreon is controlling well.
Carreon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Carreon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kumushi's head.

Carreon slips a nice elbow through Kumushi's hands, connecting with Kumushi's forehead.
Carreon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Carreon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kumushi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Oh but Kumushi is tightening it up a little... Carreon has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Carreon reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Carreon taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kumushi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Takada Kumushi!
