Carneiro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Rasmus - In the Shadows. 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reggie Coleman! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Carneiro tries to sprawl out of it but Coleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carneiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carneiro tests Coleman's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nice sprawl there from Carneiro as Coleman shoots in. Coleman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Daniel Carneiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Coleman. Carneiro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Coleman.

Coleman is trying desperately to land a takedown but Carneiro is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Coleman. Coleman avoids a punch combination nicely.

Coleman feints and as Carneiro raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Coleman stops Carneiro from standing up. Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carneiro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carneiro is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Coleman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carneiro is keeping the position for now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Carneiro is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea. Coleman trying to move into half guard but instead Carneiro has managed to sweep! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carneiro avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carneiro has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Coleman is on him like a limpet, forcing Carneiro back against the cage. Carneiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Coleman misses with a double jab.
Carneiro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Coleman works over Carneiro's head and body with a nice combination. Coleman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Carneiro lands a lovely overhand right. Carneiro misses with the combination.

Daniel Carneiro decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
