2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rembrandt Van Rijn! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Rijn instigates a clinch. Van Rijn scores with a shot to the side of Koretanov's head. Van Rijn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Koretanov.
Koretanov is trying to drag Van Rijn to the mat but Van Rijn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Van Rijn lands with a light punch inside. Koretanov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Van Rijn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Koretanov connects with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Rijn wants to sweep but no luck. Koretanov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. and Koretanov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Van Rijn clinches. Koretanov is working for takedown but Van Rijn is calmly controlling the position for now. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Koretanov turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Van Rijn struggling a bit here. Van Rijn tries to improve position but can't. Van Rijn wants to control but Koretanov postures up. Koretanov misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Koretanov is looking to take a break and control but Van Rijn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Rijn can do anything to dispel that myth. Koretanov working the ground and pound but Van Rijn is defending the strikes.

Koretanov looking to control but Van Rijn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Koretanov raining down shots from the mount! Van Rijn is trying to escape the mount.
Koretanov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Van Rijn's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Rijn is not content to let Koretanov control the position. Koretanov uses his free foot to push down on Van Rijn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Van Rijn. Van Rijn wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Koretanov.
Van Rijn tries to lock up and control but Koretanov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Koretanov landing shots from mount. Koretanov punching from mount but Van Rijn doing a good job of avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Andrei Koretanov will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Koretanov goes for a double leg but Van Rijn avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Van Rijn continues to drive forward. Van Rijn lands a right hand. Koretanov throws a punch but it's blocked by Van Rijn. Van Rijn lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Koretanov backwards. Van Rijn lands a right hand that snaps the head of Koretanov backwards. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Van Rijn takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Van Rijn lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Van Rijn will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Koretanov up against the cage. Van Rijn can't find room to land a body shot as Koretanov controls the action.
