Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Lasse Kongo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kongo's calf.
Kenny Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith wants to clinch up but Kongo keeps it at a distance.
Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Smith scores with a nice body kick.
Kongo is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kongo moves out of range as Smith throws a body kick.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Smith connects with a jab.
Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smith gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Smith is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kongo tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kongo.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kongo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kongo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Smith would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith works the jab nicely.
Smith misses with an attempted mid kick.
Smith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kongo's sensitive parts.
Smith looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smith looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Smith wants to clinch up but Kongo keeps it at a distance.
Kongo misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kongo counters with a takedown into side control.
Smith tries to escape back to his feet but Kongo has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Smith's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Smith is tapping! Kongo saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lasse Kongo!
