Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Garrett Grundlefinger!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grundlefinger shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Todd manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Grundlefinger looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Grundlefinger stands up from Todd's guard - Grundlefinger perhaps looking for a knockout.

Grundlefinger rushes Todd and presses him up against the cage.
Todd jumps guard but Grundlefinger stands there with Todd around his waist. Todd gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Todd keeps control of Grundlefinger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Todd fails to pull guard.

Grundlefinger wants the takedown. Todd is fighting it off but Grundlefinger persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Todd's guard against the cage.
Todd is trying to keep Grundlefinger in close.

Grundlefinger gets to his feet - Todd follows without any prompting.

Grundlefinger clinches up with Todd and pushes him back against the cage.
Todd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grundlefinger is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Grundlefinger tries a head kick but it misses.

Grundlefinger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Todd is looking for a sweep.

Todd prevents Grundlefinger from improving position.

Grundlefinger decides to stand back up.

Grundlefinger drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Grundlefinger stands up from Todd's guard - Grundlefinger perhaps looking for a knockout.
Grundlefinger tries to close the distance and clinch but Todd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Grundlefinger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Grundlefinger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Todd can't do much from the bottom here.

Grundlefinger is trying to get an arm triangle but Todd is defending well.

Grundlefinger looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Grundlefinger throws a strike aimed at the side of Todd's head but Todd avoids it well.
Grundlefinger trying to control the position but Todd is working away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Grundlefinger remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Grundlefinger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Todd keeps working.

Grundlefinger tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Grundlefinger takes a little break here. Todd wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garrett Grundlefinger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Grundlefinger pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Todd misses with a takedown attempt - Grundlefinger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Todd shoots in for a double leg but Grundlefinger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Grundlefinger jabs Todd to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Kieth Todd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Grundlefinger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grundlefinger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grundlefinger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Todd gets caught napping as Grundlefinger dives in and scores a takedown. Todd manages to retain guard.
Todd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Todd utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Grundlefinger stands up and waves to Todd to follow him.

Grundlefinger closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Todd's guard.

Todd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Grundlefinger dives on top into guard.

Grundlefinger is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Todd has managed to free his arm - good work.

Grundlefinger decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Kieth Todd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Garrett Grundlefinger is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Grundlefinger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
