Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Glen Shade!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shade takes the fight into the clinch.

Shade has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Guy regains guard immediately.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Shade is looking to pass into half guard but Guy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Guy is in guard.

Shade looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Shade trying to keep a closed guard but Guy is proving a slippery customer.
Shade wants to get back to his feet but Guy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shade throws a couple of heel strikes.

Shade looking for a guillotine here but Guy defends easily.
Shade keeping moving, preventing Guy from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shade wants to stand but Guy is controlling the position.
Guy forces his way into half guard.
Guy is looking to take a break and control but Shade is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shade is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Guy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Shade moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Guy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Shade is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Guy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Shade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guy is one step ahead there.
Shade is trying to keep Guy in close.

Glen Shade has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Shade shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Guy has control of Shade's left arm, preventing Shade from doing any damage.
Guy keeping moving, preventing Shade from controlling successfully.
Shade in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shade slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Shade passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Shade dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Shade drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Shade stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Shade misses with a body shot.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Shade. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Shade darts in and clinches Guy up against the cage.
Shade scores with a shoulder strike.
Guy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shade lands a right hand that snaps the head of Guy backwards.
Guy tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Guy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shade just stands there and leans against the cage.
Guy prevents Shade from breaking the clinch.

Guy is trying to pull guard but Shade turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shade works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Shade is stalling in the full guard.
Guy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shade is one step ahead there.
Shade advances position into side control!
Glen Shade has got the better of the ground game so far.
Shade tries to stand but Guy is controlling his head.

Shade advances to mount.

Guy wants to hold on but Shade pushes him away.
Shade landing strikes from the mount and Guy is in trouble!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shade connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Shade swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Guy is now in Shade's guard. A big mistake from Shade there, giving up the dominant position!

Shade throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Guy escapes and throws Shade's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Guy taking a break here but Shade is having none of it and regains half guard.
Shade wants to control but Guy is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shade is positioning himself well to prevent Guy advancing to mount.
Shade is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Guy controlling the action here.
Shade is staying active underneath Guy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shade throws a right and a left that Guy avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Glen Shade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shade is breathing heavily.
Guy tries to clinch there but Shade circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Shade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Guy drives through with a takedown into Shade's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Shade wants to get back to his feet but Guy passes into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shade can do anything to dispel that myth.
Guy winds up and cracks Shade with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Shade is concentrating on defense, preventing Guy from advancing position.
Guy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shade is looking for a sweep. Guy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Guy lands strikes from half guard.
Shade wants to get back to his feet.
Guy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Guy prevents Shade from improving his position.
Shade takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shade has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guy is working away from the top position though.

Shade is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Guy pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shade makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shade.
Guy content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Shade is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Guy rolls with it to try and escape but Shade cranks on the arm and Guy is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Glen Shade!
