Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miro Besic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Tripp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tripp has chosen House of the Rising Sun by The Animals as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miro Besic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Tripp! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Besic throws a right hand that Tripp ducks under and follows up with a left that Tripp also avoids with ease. Besic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tripp. Tripp misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tripp has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Besic is landing a low percentage of strikes. Tripp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Besic moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Besic throws a series of punches but Tripp avoids them all with ease. Besic throws a jab but it's blocked by Tripp. Besic getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Besic cracks a nice hook into Tripp's ribs. Tripp closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Besic quickly recovers to half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Besic is controlling Tripp's position as best he can from this difficult position. Tripp missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Besic looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tripp is looking to advance position but Besic won't allow it. Tripp is trying to control. Besic wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Besic blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tripp. Tripp stalling. Besic on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Besic tries to get out of the position. Besic wants to get back to his feet. Besic won't allow Tripp to pass to mount.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tripp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Besic did well to prevent Tripp getting side control. Besic blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tripp. Tripp prevents Besic from improving his position. Tripp thows a huge punch but Besic dodges it nicely.
Besic wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Besic manages to escape and get back to his feet! Besic is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Besic looks to throw the jab but Tripp is out of range. Besic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tripp counters with a left to the body. Tripp looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Besic is breathing heavily. Tripp trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tripp preventing the sweep. Tripp wants to control from the top but Besic keeps moving. Tripp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Besic swivels though and keeps the full guard. Besic managing to control the position. Besic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miro Besic has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Besic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tripp counters with a lovely straight right hand! Besic throws a series of punches but Tripp moves out of range. Besic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A combination from Tripp does no damage. Besic misses with a double jab
and Tripp counters by moving into the clinch. Besic has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tripp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Besic walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Miro Besic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Besic misses with a jab to the body
and Tripp counters with a huge left! Besic is in big trouble! He's backing up but Tripp isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Besic from any more damage. A dominating finish by Tripp!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jackson Tripp! An out of breath Jackson Tripp thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
