Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Munchack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munchack is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tupac - Ambitionz Az A Ridah. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Munchack defends well and Barnett ends up having to push Munchack into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Barnett is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Munchack pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Munchack misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Barnett has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Munchack clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
You can see the frustration on Munchack's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Munchack working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barnett here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Munchack is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Barnett still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Barnett has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munchack is looking for a triangle here but Barnett uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Barnett remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Franklin Munchack.

A less than humble Matt Barnett misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
